Till Lindemann is working his way across the United States for the first time without his Rammstein bandmates. However, he did pack up all of the red things, five very talented musicians, many fish bits, a stunning light show and many video backdrops that warrant the 18+ door policy. Along side Satanic Doo-Woppers Twin Temple and Goth Rockers Aesthetic Perfection, Monday at Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO was the best and craziest Monday in a long time.

Aesthetic Perfection kicked off the show with tons of energy and heavy riffs from guitarist Noizith and thundering percussion from Brooke Colucci. Both members on stage were filling in for Joe Letz and Constance Day, who were performing with Lindemann. Daniel Graves lead the way for the band with his strong vocal delivery and stage presence. Graves spent much of the time on the small catwalk at the front of the stage and would engage with the crowd regularly to keep the energy high through the set.

It had been two years since I had seen Twin Temple in Denver. Last time, they were opening for Ghost and Volbeat and had much a small slot, it left me wanting more. This time through, they delivered so much more satanic love to the people. Real life couple Alexandra James and Zachary James played off each other wonderfully. Alexandra the dark, playful and flirtatious while Zachary played the straight man. Between those two and the fleshed out band and doo-wopping satan style, I had a wonderful time seeing them again and watching the security crew cracking up at the creative, sometimes outlandish songs during the set.

For the main course of the evening, Lindemann brought his unmistakable voice, backed by a heavy industrial metal, but also some things you may not expect if you don’t know him outside of Rammstein. Replace the fire you may expect with fish, cakes, nudity, a video with pills literally everywhere, extremely busy stage hands and a much more rich sense of humor on display. The talent of Joe Letz, Danny Lohner, Jes Paige, Emily Ruvidich, and Constance Antoinette are pieces of the puzzle that create the picture, each with their own personality that enriches experience.
