The Blowout is an annual end of year celebration that the Doomtree crew throws, which is one of two major Minneapolis rap events in my book (the other being Soundset). Katia and I were together for Friday night before I escaped back to Madison to attend a great friend’s theater production she created from scratch the following afternoon. (The 7 1/2 hours trying not to end up in a snowbank instead of the normal 4 1/2 drive was well worth it.) The Blowout brought out a plethora of Minneapolis/St. Paul musicians, including Maggie Morrison, Sean McPherson, and Ashley Gold. You’ll be getting her review of the Snowout of a weekend shortly, but for now, here’s some visuals from Friday evening!
