The fire of Andrea Ferro and ice of Cristina Scabbia that make up Lacuna Coil graced the Summit Music Hall Stage in Denver and brought a few friends. The dark and industrial duo of Vowws opened the show, and metal core band Escape the Fate brought the heavy but slick show that amped the crowd up for their headliner.

I’ve seen Lacuna Coil live a handful of times over their career, first time was in 2006. Their constant has been the fantastic front-woman Cristina Scabbia. Andrea Ferro makes up the second half their two vocal lead approach and his singing is what surprised me the most this show. From the last time I saw them, he has incorporated a lot more growling into his approach as evident by their last few albums. They have a song on 2025’s “Sleepless Empire”; Hosting the Shadow; that features Randy Blythe of Lamb of God. While I would never say there is too much Randy Blythe as he’s fantastic and probably great work on a track with, I will say Andrea handled Randy’s part on the song like it was his own during the show.

That being said, his vocals have become much stronger over time and mesh with Cristina’s so much better than before. Lacuna Coil is tight, confident band and continue to get better with time.
