In a social media run society that seems perfectly content with bland make-belief and subtle politically correct nuances, Kim Petras takes center stage fully embracing her inner beast.
Loud, bold, and unapologetically true to herself, Petras delivered a thrilling set that enthralled fans from the first note to the very last.
The Grammy-winning artist brought her Feed The Beast World Tour to CalCoast Open Air Theatre this past Sunday. Her first tour since 2019 as she promotes, Feed The Beast and Problematique -the latter just released this past September.
The show was an unbelievable masterfully curated spectacle that surpassed all expectations. A delightfully theatrical extravaganza that offered the right balance of raunchy, fun, and soulful that was rendered cohesive by her stunning crisp vocals that hypnotized fans.
A gorgeous fiery intricate set design that could have easily distracted but instead magnified her stage presence throughout the evening. It served as perfect background to her and the amazing dancers she shared the stage with further pulling you into the stunning choreography.
Through all the glitz and glamour what shined the most was her almost magical ability to captivate each fan. She created this warm exchange that vailed the distance between artist and fans. A further testament to this great relationship with her fans was the fact that her “top hits” were received as warmly as newer tunes. The entire evening was a continuous singalong were fans heartwarmingly shared each note with her.
This was my first time seeing Kim Petras live and I anticipated the raunchy, the loud, the in-your-face fun. However, I wasn’t expecting such a beautifully layered experience, capable of moving an entire audience through every single song. No matter how great the artist, or how phenomenal the show, there are always those dull moments -you know the bathroom break song or the “let’s refill the drinks” kinda song…not here. This was a continuous, relentless, and captivating evening that enthralled the audience from beginning to end. Even at lights on, fans just didn’t want to let go of the evening.
If you have a chance to catch the Feed The Beast Tour in your city don’t miss out!!
